Mark Obremski
Mark Obremski began using AutoCAD on Version 2.5 in 1986. While
working for a manufacturer in St. Louis, Mark was tasked to program
parametric flat pattern developments which were used to create instrument
enclosure systems for the petro-chemical industry. These efforts
replaced a $125,000 mainframe system along with expensive annual
contracts. Since that time Mark has worked as a CAD manager, automating
processes and enforcing standards for a large user base, worked
for two Autocad resellers, one in St. Louis and one in Salt Lake
City, instructed at two Authorized Autodesk Training Centers, one
at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park and at Salt Lake Community
College. He is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and has taught all
AutoCAD courses from beginning to customization, AutoCAD for Architects,
AutoLISP and AutoCAD Map. He specializes in design automation by
extending AutoCAD through its various programming interfaces including
AutoLISP, VBA and Object ARX. As president of CADD Support Group,
a company he founded in 1992, he has helped numerous companies throughout
the United States automate their design processes improving data
quality, access, decision making and user productivity. One of his
most recent projects was at PacifiCorp, an electrical utility serving
a six-state territory. There he designed and created a GIS system
using AutoCAD Map as part of a 9.6 million dollar project. The system
maintains 20,000 design jobs annually which produces over 30,000
hardcopy maps supporting the operations of the electrical network.
The system also feeds data to web-based applications in AutoDESK
Mapguide which support outage visualization and management.
